What is Machu Picchu Circuit 3?

This circuit also offers the chance to capture the iconic postcard photo of Machu Picchu from the famous Guardian’s House viewpoint.
To reach this spot, visitors must walk up a series of stone steps—a hike that takes between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on physical fitness.

From the Guardian’s House, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of Machu Picchu’s most important Inca structures, including the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Intihuatana, and more. However, this ticket does not grant access to explore those areas up close.

The circuit is designed to be completed in about 1 hour, giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and take stunning photos from this exceptional viewpoint.

In addition to this route, visitors can also access the hike to Intipunku (the Sun Gate)—the original entrance to Machu Picchu during Inca times, located at 3,745 meters (12,287 feet) above sea level.
