Machu Picchu Circuit 1D Details
This circuit also allows visitors to capture the classic postcard photo of Machu Picchu from the Guardian’s House area. This route through the archaeological site is officially known as “Circuit 1.”
From this viewpoint, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Machu Picchu’s most iconic Inca structures, such as the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Intihuatana, and more. However, this ticket does not grant access to the urban and religious sectors, so you cannot explore these structures up close.
The entire route can be completed in a maximum of 2 hours, giving visitors enough time to take stunning photos from this spectacular viewpoint.
In addition to Circuit 1, visitors may also follow the trail to the Inca Bridge, located on the eastern edge of the site. This was once the gateway to the Amazon region during the Inca Empire.
The round-trip hike to the Inca Bridge takes approximately 1 hour.
Please note: This trail is closed during the low season (from October 16 to May 31) and only visitors aged 18 and over are allowed to enter.
